June 1st was a beautiful evening to sit outside and.... BANG YOUR HEAD! Throw in some drinks, some food, and the music of Dying Breed, fronted by the incredible vocals of Jackie Joyce, and you have the perfect recipe to do just that!
Jakes Tavern in Essex, Maryland, hosted the event outside on the patio. Fans gathered sitting at picnic tables and in their own lawn chairs. Jackie Joyce told the story of graduating from Chesapeake High School just down the road in 1982 and asked how many people attending graduated in 1982 also. A few raised their hands but I would go out on a limb and say most of us in attendance probably graduated in the 80's at some point.
The fan base of the band might be a bit past the middle age mark of their lives, but they still bang their heads and rock out to the music the band performs, most from that era, including: Heart, Stevie Nicks, Judas Priest, Dio, and Queensryche to name a few. If you're an 80's music metal head, loved your Aqua Net, spandex, and ripped denim then you will thoroughly enjoy this band. Hell, I still use Aqua Net!
From the powerful lead vocals, screaming guitars, and beat keeping drums and keys.... the band will transport you back to the 80's. Dying Breed proves that the music and over all feeling of that era ARE NOT a dying breed!
